I keep seeing “Best of 2011″ blog posts all over the place and I feel bad that I didn’t prepare one… So here it is, thrown together at the very last minute. This is one of my favorite photo sessions from 2011 of my son back in January.

I was so excited to meet Baby C last weekend having not seen his mom since I took her maternity photos back in October. He is the most handsome little guy with an amazing cowlick swirl on the top of his head. He gave us lots of yawns but didn’t end up falling asleep until it was time for him to head home for the night.

I have been dying to do another giveaway, but I was waiting till mid-December. The first giveaway [there will be at least 3 between now and Christmas] is a full length photo session for children up to the age of 5. If you have two children under the age of 5, they can both be included in the photo session.
You must be following Holly Cromer Photography on Facebook and have a child age 0-5 years. That’s it.
However, if you REALLY, REALLY want to win this photo session, you can gain two extra entries by sharing my Facebook page or this blog post on Facebook and another for sharing on Twitter [please leave your Twitter name in the "Other" section if you go this route and include @hollycromerpix].
This giveaway runs through 11:59pm on Saturday, December 17…. then a new giveaway will be posted and the winner will be notified!

Meet the Purcell family! A little fun fact: four years ago, I photographed this family and they were the first family portraits that I ever took! I was so excited when I heard from Laura again, she saw photos that I took of a co-workers’ baby on my Facebook page, Blacksburg is such a small town. It was nice to meet their new baby girl, she was quite fond of my camera. We had planned on doing more photos outdoors, but it was chilly the day before Thanksgiving so we had to make it snappy so the little ones didn’t get cold. Thank you so much Purcell family, it was nice to have a chance to work with you again all these years later!

I met this lovely Blacksburg family on Wednesday for some holiday family portraits. Their son took to me immediately showing off all of he and his sister’s coolest toys. How adorable is this sweet little baby girl? I loved her christening gown, it was so beautiful and over 100 years old! Thank you so much L family for letting me spend the morning before Thanksgiving with you.

Sunday was a gorgeous day, perfect for a trip to the pumpkin patch at Sinkland Farms! My friend Carly and I took our adorable sons to pick out pumpkins which was a much different experience than last year before they could walk. The boys ran through the field of pumpkins, had deep philosophical conversations when they took a break, snuck into the corn maze, rode tractors, and choose the pumpkin signs instead of actual pumpkins. Micah really blew me away with his ability to read the prices of the pumpkins. Another great trip to pick out pumpkins!
I’d like to introduce you to baby M. Her mother and I have been friends for years – I liked N’Sync, she liked Backstreet Boys; I liked Virginia Tech, she liked Clemson [with our shoot being only a few days after Clemson dominated us in football I made her promise not to gloat, and she didn't]; one thing we did agree on was that together we would terrorized our 8th grade science teacher.
A couple weeks ago Brandi brought this sweet little girl into the world. We kept trying to coax her into taking a nap so we could get more photos, but Baby M knew it was her party and she didn’t want to miss a moment so she stayed awake for my entire visit.
Two weeks after having my son I looked like a zombie, but two weeks after having her baby, Brandi is glowing and looking amazing.
Thank you so much Anthony and Brandi for letting me come take photos of your beautiful new addition! And thank you Baby M for being so understanding and patient while having your picture taken, I can’t wait to see you again!
