About a year and a half ago I did a film swap with Karly after seeing the Double Exposures: A DIY Project That Brings Friends Together post on Photojojo. First I shot a roll of expired Kodak 400 film through my Holga 135, wound most of it back up in the film canister then handed it off to Karly to shoot a second exposure over top of it with her Nikon N80. In many of the photos her SLR camera dominated over my toy camera’s exposures since Holga is pretty much hit or miss and the Nikon actually has a light meter. We got quite a few photos that mixed together and made some really dreamy effects. My favorite by far is the first one pictured in this blog post.
I’ve talked it over with Karly and I’m excited that we have decided to give the whole film swap project another try once spring rolls around. This time I think we’ll do a little planning on having a theme beforehand now that we have a good idea of what type of results to expect.
